I was expecting a "the episode differs from that shown in most listings" on Channel 4 but they screened Carry on up the Khyber. Yes its not very PC anyway but it contains the 3rd Foot and Mouth Regiment. Congrats to Channel 4 for being fearless!

My alarm clock, a white cube with an internal light that also backlights the LCD (look like something from Mathmos but isn't) where you tap it for the light and the cube colour is linked to the hour (2 o'clock is red) is annoyingly designed. AAA batteries or the mains adapter powers the backlight but the clock (LCD, chip and alarm) is powered by 2x AG13 button cell batteries. So the latter buttons die resulting in light but no clock (and the LCD had been viewable at fewer angles as it died).
Boots don't do button batteries except for hearing aids. Timpson (previously who wanted an unreasonable £9 for a watch battery including fitting - which was only £4 next door in a jewelers) wanted £4.50 EACH battery. "That'll be £9 sir". No they didn't say Sir but after dispensing that shock they should. Final result: 2 batteries for £1.95 in John Lewis (although they didn't know LR44 was same as AG13). Markup by Timpson: 350%. I'm not going there ever again unless I win the lottery. Boycotted, in the same group as Walmart's Asda now.
Note to self (or you) AG13 button cells are the same as LR44 (also, A76) always 1.5V
